Vault City map, in-game graphic.

Description

The city built by the Vault 8 dwellers. One of the very few successful Vault experiments, this was the first city built with the help of the Garden of Eden Creation Kit... and slaves... they always forget to mention the slaves.

This is the only protected town in the northern area of FOnline2's worldmap. It is a crucial supply station for all players active in the northern areas, as this is the only place where they can visit doctors or shops in safety.

Wastelanders can buy a house here, hire NPC shopkeepers, or simply browse through the inventories of the few NPC driven shops. There aren't many quests to do here, and number of interesting NPCs isn't that high, but thanks to the Hub - Vault City caravan route this place is well known and visited by many of FOnline2 players regularly.

Unlike in Fallout 2, you don't need any kind of Day Pass or Citizenship in order to get into the main part of the city. If the gate is closed, just click and enter. You don't have to worry about the guards or any other NPCs - these irresponsible guards just don't give a damn who walks through their gates.

Private Houses

In the past you could had bought a private house here. Nowadays though its impossible as all houses are already bought. What you can do though is to find a player already owning a house and convince him to sell you one. Not a task any amateur can accomplish, but feel free to attempt. Vault City alongside The Hub are the only cities where you can find houses inhabited by players.

Town maps

Vault City consists of 4 maps. One huge outside city area and the Vault 8 interior section that is divided into 3 floors.

Points of interest

City

  • 1 - The caravan master.
  • 2 - The workbench location.

  • 4 - A brahmin herdsman. If you're in desperate need of caps and experience, he might have a job for you. You might want to put on a pair of gloves, though.
  • 5 - An NPC trader.
  • 6 - A doctor. If you need healing, want to barter for medical supplies or need to buy antitoxins this is the guy to talk to.
  • 7 - McRae. This NPC looks like a tribute to Cassidy from Fallout 2. He serves drinks... and he's bald.
  • 8 - An NPC Trader.
  • 9 - An NPC Trader.
  • 10 - A real estate agent. Vault City house prices vary from 60 000 to 120 000 caps.
  • 11 - Randal. An NPC trader with all kind of goodies. He also sells Cleaning Robot NPC for 10k each.
  • 12 - Bill. The key person in Kenny's quest. He is also buying Cheezy Poofs for an insignificant amount of caps.
  • 13 - Nigel. NPC that is a part of Kenny's quest just like Bill.
  • 14 - McClure. And another person of interest in Kenny's quest.
  • 15 - Vault City engineer. He sells energy transformers.
  • 16 - A caravan box foreman. He needs someone who will carry some boxes and earn some caps.
  • 16a - Destination point. Bring boxes here.
  • 17 - Barkus. A servant allocation center boss. You can talk to him - yeah he's not that useful.
  • 18 - Wallace. A relic of the past, in Fallout 2 you were getting a day pass from him. In FOnline 2 you can talk to him, but he doesn't play any role.
  • 19 - Jail. If you break the rules you are going to be put here.
  • 20 - Madman. A Temple Key collector. You can bring him a lot of temple keys. He will give you some experience per each till he's satisfied with what you brought to him.
  • 21 - Melinda. A town greeter. She sucks at this though - in other words she is completely useless.
  • 22 - Nick. Local Chef of Gecko Express.
  • 23 - Ed. Probably another relict from Fallout 2, and also probably completely useless NPC.
  • 24 - Bartender. Yet another guy imported from Fallout 2. This one also doesn't do anything.
  • 25 - Waterpipe. You can fill your water bags here.
  • 26 - Waterpipe. You can fill your water bags here.
  • 27 - Vault Entrance.
  • T - Player shops.
  • T - Moo!. Brahmin pens location.
  • T - Private House. A residence owned by one of many FOnline 2 players.

Vault 8 (level 1)

  • 1 - A guard. Talk to him to get inside Vault 8. He will only let you pass if you have the permission from councilor McClure.
  • 2 - Vault 8 door terminal. Click on it to open the vault door from the inside.
  • 3 - Doctor. He is doing exactly the same thing as any other doctor would do.

Vault 8 (level 2)

  • 1 - Advanced Workbench. Here you can craft the most advanced weapons and armors in the game. You need to bring all required materials and also pay 100k to be able to use this machine.

  • 3 - Advanced Workbench.
  • 4 - Advanced Workbench.
